NNA - President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, congratulated the Lebanese workers on Labor Day, promising to continue working "so that Lebanon's economy would move from a rentier economy to a productive sector that keeps the people of the nation deeply-rooted in their land."

In his word on the occasion, Aoun said: "From the heart of the difficult conditions we are enduring, I salute all Lebanese workers for their strive every day in order to earn a living through honest work...My pledge to the Lebanese and the laborers amongst them is to continue endeavoring so that the clouds of crises accumulated over the years, for which the workers of Lebanon have paid heavy prices, will dissipate, and so that they will have the most prominent contribution pride of moving Lebanon from a rentier economy to a productive economy that will root our compatriots in their land as well as in the aspirations of a promising future."
