NNA - Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rahi met Wednesday in Bkerki with Egyptian Ambassador to Lebanon, Yasser Alawi, who expressed "relief over the resumption of the Lebanese Cabinet sessions to address the problems Lebanon is suffering."

Speaking to reporters, the diplomat highlighted "the importance and necessity to hold the parliamentary elections on their scheduled date."

He also heaped praise on the "historic bilateral relations" between the two countries, reiterating Egypt's permanent support for Lebanon.
