NNA - Future Bloc MP, Amar Houry, said Saturday to Manar TV that although the meeting held at Ayn Teeneh with House Speaker Nabih Berri did not yield any results, it broke the ice between political factions who agreed to calm the tense situation, and he confirmed that the Orthodox plan would regress the country into a tribal mentality sending the nation back into the dark ages.
Houry declined any electoral law that did not abide by Taef Accord.
"We are all at fault in not carrying out Taef Accord in its totality, in not establishing two councils, and abolishing political sectarianism as a first step and then reaching for a Senate, but in return we should not accept emotional ideas, that may tickle the feelings of some, like the proposition of the Orthodox meeting," he said.
