Qatar World Cup: Saudi Arabia beats Argentina (2-1), restores Algeria scene of 1982

NNA - Saudi Arabia achieved today a deserved victory over Argentina, the two-time world champion, by scoring (2-1) in the match that took place between them this afternoon at Lusail Stadium in Group C of the 22nd FIFA World Cup hosted by Qatar.

It can be said that the key to victory for the Saudi players is their success in playing on one defensive line to limit the speed of the Argentine players, so they repeatedly caught them in the offside trap.

Following an entirely Argentinean first half, the Saudis played the match of their lives in the second half, reflecting a good image of Asian football after Qatar and Iran lost to Ecuador and England.

The Saudi team raised the Arab flag strongly in an image reminiscent of Algeria's victory over West Germany in the 1982 World Cup in Spain.
