Registration now open for the Business to Business event –“Innovations for grazed woodlands”

NNA - The Lebanese Agricultural Research Institute (LARI) announced the opening of registrations for the B2B event “Innovations for grazed woodlands” which will take place on the 5th of October 2022 at the Hotel Le Royal Dbayeh in Beirut, Lebanon, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM local time.

The announcement is an open invitation to farmers, entrepreneurs, local administrators, researchers, private companies, policy makers and multiple stakeholders in Lebanon interested in agroforestry issues, especially in the field of grazed woodlands to take part in the series of discussions, round tables and one-on-one meetings which will take place during the initiative. 

The program of the day includes onsite and online seminars presented by a professional panel of acclaimed guest speakersincluding representatives from LARI, LIVINGAGRO consortium and other research institutions revolving around the latest scientific research and implementation of state-of-the-art innovations related to grazed woodlands that contribute to the development of the sector.

Various morning and afternoon sessions will be dedicated to underscore innovative insights and studies, helping stakeholdersto deal with the challenges they face. The main topics of the event do include adaptive grazing management, reconciling grazing with trees, mixtures for quality pasture, shade tolerant species, remote sensing techniques to monitor oak forests, thinning and pruning trees in silvopastoral systems, land imprinter for rangelands rehabilitation coupled with rangeland species seeder and hydroponic fodder system.

The event, which aims to support education, research and development, innovation, technology transfer as well aspublishing and marketing of research results, is planned in the framework of the project “Cross Border Living Laboratories for Agroforestry -LIVINGAGRO”, co-funded by the European Union through the ENI CBC Med Programme and organized by the Lebanese Agricultural Research Institute (LARI) in collaboration with the Forest Agency for Land and Environment of Sardinia (FoReSTAS).
