NNA - France hails the organization of timely parliamentary elections in Lebanon, but it regrets the irregularities and violations recorded by the European Union's Election Observation Mission, the French Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

"France urges all the Lebanese officials to appoint a Prime Minister without delay and to form a new government that would take the necessary measures to redress the country and to provide proper solutions that fulfill the aspirations of the population, based on the agreement signed with the International Monetary Fund," the statement read.

"France will continue to stand by the side of the Lebanese people," it added.
