NNA - Caretaker Environment Minister, Nazem Khoury, on Tuesday said that Lebanon is facing numerous challenges to enroll Disaster Reduction in its national policy due to a major lack in the financial and technical resources.

Khoury spoke today while representing President Michel Sleiman today at the Global Platform for Disaster Reduction, in Geneva.

Caretaker Minister said that the Ministry determined all residential areas and natural sites that were threatened by floods and landslides.

However, he added, in spite of all accomplishments Lebanon, was still unprepared to face major disasters.

"Our country is committed to building societies capable of facing natural disasters," he said and called in that respect on developed countries to support Lebanon.
