Kunhadi, the association for youth awareness on road safety, celebrated today its 6 anniversary at the Holiday Inn- Verdun, under the aegis of Minister Ghazi Aridi.
The event was held in presence of representatives of Social Affairs Minister Wael Abou Faour, of Lebanese Army Commander General Jean Kahwaji, and of the ISF General Director Ashraf Rifi, along with other concerned officials.
In his word, Aridi urged everyone to abide by road safety measures and necessary regulations in order to avoid fatal accidents.
"Lebanese abroad abide by all rules and regulations yet when they arrive in Lebanon, they boast about violating traffic laws," he remarked and hoped this would stop to guarantee road safety for everyone.
As for his part, the association's president Fadi Gibran said that annual road accidents decreased from 2008 till 2011 but went back up in the present year.
Gibran went over the association's 6 aims which he deemed to be vaccines to avoid car accidents, namely;
- Do not exceed speed limit
- Do not drive under the influence of alcohol
- Wear helmets on motorcycles
- Do not drive when tired
- Always wear your seatbelt
- Do not use your mobile while driving.
