NNA - The Lebanese President Michel Sleiman on Wednesday chaired the Cabinet session at Baabda palace at 10:30 a.m. in presence of Prime Minister Najib Mikati and the Ministers.
Conferees tackled 24 items on the agenda as well as other urgent dossiers in order to adopt necessary procedures about them.
Sleiman and Mikati convened before the session, in a closed meeting, over the latest up-to-dates.
Before entering the session, Environment Minister Nazem Khoury ruled out tackling dossiers which were outside the agenda and said that the Orthodox Gathering law did not resolve the nation's problems as it contradicted with the coexistence pact.
"The President might review with the Constitutional Council the constitutionality of the law that may be contested," he said.
With reference to Lebanon's ties with GCC countries, State Minister Ali Qanso said that Prime Minister had already adopted a stance herein.
Also on this issue, Social Affairs Minister Wael Bou Faour said that the Cabinet ought to issue a clear stance regarding rumors on Lebanon's ties with Gulf countries.
Education Minister Hassan Diab, in turn, said that the Lebanese University Deans' appointment dossier was still pending due to political quarrels.
As for his part, Information Minister Walid Daouk deemed it improbable to tackle the Tele Liban channel dossier during today's session.
On the salaries' scale topic, Finance Minister Mohammad Safadi said there was a possibility to consent over the salaries' scales' funding sources within the upcoming two weeks, to refer it to the Parliament.
