NNA - The Joint Parliamentary Committees are currently discussing the second article of the Orthodox election law proposal, NNA correspondent said.
In an intervention, MP Sami Gemayel supported the rights of minorities.
"The six additional MPs are distributed as follows: one MP for the Syriac Catholics, one MP for the Greek Catholics, in return for a Shiite, a Sunnite, and a Druze MP," Gemayel said.
The Joint Committees, currently meeting at the House of Parliament, earlier endorsed the first article of the Orthodox gathering's election law proposal, to change the number of MPs from 128 to 134.
It is to note that Future MPs have also voted in favor of this article.
