NNA - National News Agency correspondent reported on Monday that the Union Coordination Committee confirmed the open strike tomorrow at 11:00 am in front of the Grand Serail.



The confirmation came following a decision by the government to postpone an extraordinary Cabinet meeting that was scheduled for today to look into the long-simmering salaries scale issue.



The UCC convened today at the headquarters of the elementary teachers' union and called upon civil servants for a huge turnout in tomorrow's sit-in.



The Committee said that the Cabinet called off its meeting today under the pressure of the Economic Committees, chiding it for underestimating the livelihood of citizens.



It confirmed that it would not renege on the open and global strike until the salary scale is forwarded before the Parliament.
