Fatfat says Future bloc's political plan

NNA - Member of Parliament, Ahmad Fatfat, insisted Thursday that the Future Parliamentary Bloc's proposal was not tailored to serve electoral purposes, but described it instead as a "comprehensive political plan".

Interviewed by Future news, the lawmaker said his bloc's yesterday visit to LF leader, Samir Geagea, had been an occasion to brief him on Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri's initiative, especially concerning ongoing discussions on a new electoral law.

"Of Course, there remain some opposing viewpoints over various issues, but we stand at a much better position today," added Fatfat.

The "Future" MP said that Hariri's initiative stresses four major topics: a majority based electoral law with small districts to activate Christian representation, constitutional amendment for the establishment of a senate council, activation of administrative decentralization to abolish political sectarianism, and inclusion of Baabda declaration of June 11, 2012 as part of the Lebanese Constitution's preamble.
