NNA - Member of Loyalty to the Resistance parliamentary bloc, Ali Fayyad, condemned Sunday the ambush against the army in Arsal.
Addressing a crowd at a ceremony held in Kfarkila, southern Lebanon, Fayyad said the attack threatened the security and dignity of the motherland.
The MP said that those who allow themselves to target the army constitute a danger to Lebanon and civil peace.
"The hotbeds of tension, extremism, sectarian incitement, chaos and disobedience to the State, threaten stability and inter-Lebanese coexistence," warned the MP.
In his words, those conducting ongoing verbal attacks against the weapons of the resistance-weapons that defended the country and imposed the equation of deterrence in the face of the enemy- aim to transform this arsenal into an internal problem while remaining tolerant of other weapons, which have targeted the army in Arsal.
"The area of southern Lebanon is a model region, more stable than most Lebanon. It is a region of coexistence, and religious and political diversity, where you cannot even see a weapon."
MP Fayyad also stressed the importance of holding parliamentary elections on schedule, following a consensual electoral law.
