NNA - Tourism Minister, Fadi Abboud, underlined that "security is essential for tourism", saying Beirut is a safe city as Madrid.



Minister Abboud was speaking during a press conference he held at "Arab House" in Madrid, where he gave briefings on the current touristic situation in Lebanon and the impact of developments in the Middle East on this sector.



Abboud encouraged tourists to visit Lebanon, assuring that there is nothing against them in Lebanon. The Minister spoke about Lebanon "the message and diversity", the special characteristics that mark the private sector, significant touristic services and hospitality- in terms of hotels and restaurants.



He outlined the various touristic activities available in Lebanon, notably the current touristic "50% for 50 days" campaign that tourists can benefit from.



Abboud is currently in Spain, where he partook in "Fitur Exhibition" functions, considered to be one of the most important touristic expos at the international level.



Around 167 countries are partaking in said exhibition, with about ten thousand exhibitors joining.



Abboud met at the sidelines of the exhibition with a number of his counterparts.
