NNA - Anticipated backing for the prime minister's scrapping of the civil marriage law came from the Front of Islamist Action fundamentalist group. They saluted in a press release today, Mikati's move on account what they termed as "civil marriage infringement of the precepts of Shari'a and Islamic personal status law." Islamists underscored unanimous rejection of the "immoral civil marriage law" by Muslem and Christian clerics alike. They termed the law socially and confessionally divisiveness in the face of Americans, Zionists and other conspirators.
