NNA - Kfar-Dhibian highway has been opened to traffic by the Lebanese army following a scuffle between local protesters and Ahmad al-Assir's followers reportedly on their way to a nearby ski resort, NNA field reporters said. The opening of the highway resulted in slight injuries sustained by 2 Kfar-Dhibian youths manning a stone roadblock with army personnel beefing up military effectives in the sector. Meanwhile, Minister of the Interior Marwan Charbel strives to contain rising tension through intensive contacts with former Cabinet minister Farid Khazen. Khazen rushed to Kfar-Dhibian in a bid to use his good offices with protesters to clear off the highway.
