NNA - UNIFIL General Commander, Alberto Serra, chaired Wednesday the tripartite military meeting at the UN base in Ras Naqoura Crossing.



Conferees boarded the implementation of relevant clauses of Security Council Resolution #1701 in the framework of UNIFIL's mandate, including the situation along the Blue Line, the continuing process of marking the Blue Line and the issue of Israeli forces' withdrawal from northern Ghajar.



On emerging, Serra described the meeting as "constructive."



Serra said that the situation was generally marked by tranquility in UNIFIL's operational zone, with the continued strong commitment by both parties to cease hostile acts and abide by procedures and coordination with UNIFIL.



He thanked both sides "for their continued support to UNIFIL," and expressed satisfaction with "the low level of incidents taking place along the Blue Line."



He congratulated both parties for "their commitment to maintaining calm in the region and implementing resolution 1701."
