NNA - The parliamentary subcommittee designated to discuss an election law resumed its meetings at the Parliament's building today.



Chaired by MP Robert Ghanem, the subcommittee members included deputies Sami Gemayel, George Adwan, Serge Tour Sarkissian, Hagop Parkardonian, Akram Shouhayib, Ahmed Fatfat, Alain Aoun and Ali Fayad.



Gemayel said the MPs must find a formula which is close to all parties and wins the trust of all sides.



"We will listen to all the proposals but what is more important is that no one has any obsession," Gemayel added.



For his part, MP Adwan underlined the need to have the elections on time.



"The elections will not be held on the 1960 law. We will listen to all proposals. We will see the alternatives to the Orthodox law which was rejected by some sides," Adwan added.
