NNA - Coptic Pope Tawadros II on Monday described his relationship with Egyptian President Mohammad Morsi as "good", expressing his optimism about the future of Egypt.
Pope of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria, received on Monday in Cairo, the head of the Lebanese Editors' Syndicate Elias Aoun and a delegation comprised of Saiid Nasser el-Din, Joseph Kosseifi and Arafat Hijazi, who came to congratulate him on his appointment as head of the Coptic Orthodox Church.
The pope thanked Patriarch Bechara Boutros Rahi for attending the ceremony of his enthronement.
"We are in constant contact with the Patriarchs of the Middle East," he said.
Regarding the possibility of holding a Congress for the Patriarchs of the Middle East, Pope Tawadros said "we are consulting with concerned officials about this affair."
On the topic of the arrival of the Muslim Brotherhood in power, he said that Egypt had been ruled by Muslims for a long time.
Pope of the Coptic Orthodox said he shall be soon visiting Lebanon and the Coptic Diaspora in this country.
