Zasypkin informs Abu Faour Russia to provide aid to displaced Syrians through field hospitals

NNA - Social Affairs Minister, Wael Abu Faour, met Monday at his office in the Ministry with the Russian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Zasypkin, over the heated issue of the Syrians displaced into Lebanon to flee the war next door.

"We discussed with the Minister the issue of the displaced Syrians, a matter that we seek to solve. We also want to provide the best conditions for their stay here on the Lebanese territories," the envoy told reporters following the meeting.

"I believe we are going to provide aids through field hospitals on the Lebanese territories," he pointed out, vowing to carry on contacts with the Lebanese concerned authorities in that respect.

Besides, the pair tackled the current general situation in Lebanon and the broader Arab region.

On the 22-month-old unrest in neighboring Syria, Zasypkin highlighted the necessity to reach common ground among the foreign concerned parties.

He indicated that parleys with the US were still underway until a much-sought political solution to the conflict is clinched.

Earlier today, Abu Faour met with the UNHCR representative in Lebanon, Ninette Kelley, on top of a delegation.

The meeting featured high on the relief process for the Palestinians and Syrians displaced in Lebanon.

He later met with MP Farid Khazen over the current general situation and an array of developmental affairs.

Furthermore, Abu Faour met with former Deputy Talal Merehbi over affairs related to the North and Akkar.

He also received the Head of the Court of Audit, Judge Aouni Ramadan, and General Salah Gebran.
