NNA - MP Dory Chamoun condemned in a statement Saturday the Orthodox plan for a parliamentary electoral law, calling it unconstitutional and accusing it of paving way for confederation of sects.
Chamoun explained that objection of Christians of March 14 against the plan was not directed towards allies, but rather meant to protect the nation against disintegration.
"The Orthodox plan suggestion was born dead and is nothing but a political maneuver," said Chamoun.
"If the 60s law would take Christians decades back, the Orthodox plan would take Lebanon, and not only Christians, centuries back."
Chamoun asserted that the plan went against Christian-Muslim coexistence.
