Adwan, Fatfat deny quarrel at adhoc committee discussions

NNA - MPs George Adwan, from the Lebanese Forces bloc, and Ahmad Fatfat, from Future bloc, denied Thursday that a dispute had erupted between them at the parliamentary ad-hoc committee discussing the electoral law.

Both held today a joint press conference in presence of Deputies Serge Tersarkissian and National Struggle Front MP Akram Shohayeb, to belie news circulated by some media outlets about an alleged quarrel.

"As we were holding discussions, we received on our cell phones text messages claiming that a dispute has erupted between me, MP Fatfat, and MP Shohayeb," Adwan told reporters.

"As we have decided to remain confidential over the discussions, and after what happened, I will be speaking in details after every session," he said.

"No dispute whatsoever has erupted," he corroborated, noting that discussions were calm, objective, and constructive.

He did not fail to maintain that media must renege on looking for scoops, but stick to conveying truth as it is.

"Do not forget that we are now amid a crisis," he stressed.
