NNA - Five members of a Lebanese army patrol were wounded today in an ambush set up by a group of Syrian gunmen in the outskirts of the Bekaa region of Arsal, a communiqué by the army's Guidance Directorate indicated on Wednesday.

"Around 1:25 pm, a patrol affiliated with the army received bullets in Rahwa-Arsal region, by an armed group that had set up an ambush for the patrol in the area's outskirts, wounding five soldiers," the communiqué read.

The army countered the fire source; clash with the gunmen is still reportedly underway.
