NNA - Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Beshara Boutros Rahi said Monday it is inadmissible that the political practice in Lebanon turn into hindering the country's vital sectors.
"Blockage is not a political work. Politics must be for the public welfare," he maintained.
He said Lebanon should be a factor of stability and peace amid the turmoil jolting the Arab world, and not a factor of sedition and strife sowing.
He renewed calls to bolster inter-Lebanese unity, solidarity, and trust.
Rahi made these remarks during his meeting with MP Michel Murr in Bkirki today.
Murr had been to the Maronite Patriarchate with a delegation of Metn municipalities' heads.
Speaking to reporters following the meeting, he said visiting the Maronite Patriarch was a necessity amid the current gridlock.
He said the existing crisis was mostly a social, economic, and security one.
He did not fail to reckon on Rahi's "wisdom" and "will" to assume a "salvation" role in favor of the nation.
