NNA - A group of inmates at Roumieh penitentiary rioted Friday evening in protest against ill-treatment, NNA correspondent reported.


The prisoners in question gathered at the convicts' ward and broke down doors. A unit from prison security contained the situation and placed the men back in their cells.


Doors were under repair Saturday, as an investigation began into the incident.
