NNA - 22/10/2012 - Ministers of Interior and Telecommunications, Marwan Charbel and Nicolas Sehanoui, on Monday inspected the damages wrecked by the deadly explosion in Ashrafieh Friday.Acting Governor of Beirut, Nassif Qaloush, municipality head Bilal Hamad, General Abdo Berbari from the Interior Ministry, and the Secretary General of the Higher Relief Committee General Ibrahim Bashir accompanied the Ministers in their tour.



This is a field humanitarian tour aimed at assuaging the suffering of damaged people due to the explosion in Ashrafieh, through providing required assistance before the advent of winter via the municipality of Beirut, Charbel said.



He also pointed out to the aid provided by the state, the Higher Relief Committee, and the effort by Minister Sehnaoui in guaranteeing free staying at some hotels for 10 days.



He added that Governor Qaloush delegated an engineering team to inspect cracked buildings to specify whether they are still habitable, stressing that there are strict security measures to prevent any theft and robbery.
