NNA - A delegation of Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP) met Wednesday the new Greek Orthodox Patriarch, Yuhanna X Yaziji in Damascus.
The delegation congratulated the Patriarch on his election as head of the Greek Orthodox Church and presented him with the best wishes of the party on the occasion of Christmas.
According to the statement issued by the SSNP at the end of the meeting, the delegation stressed the importance of the Patriarchate of Antioch in the consolidation of democratic values and also emphasized the need to make every effort "so that Syria vanquishes the conspiracy hatched against it."
"Terrorism and extremism could not overcome the Syrians, their will and their resistance," the statement concluded.
