NNA - The Minister of Interior and Municipalities Marwan Charbel confirmed in his meeting with the families of the Lebanese kidnapped in Syria that the dossier is complicated with many difficulties that are being resolved.
"It feels like digging in rocks", he said, assuring however that there is hope for their release.
"A committee has been formed by the families of the kidnapped to pursue the file, and we are hoping for the best results," Charbel said in the wake of the meeting.
"Political matters appear from time to time and hamper the solution efforts, but I expect their safe return at the earliest opportunity," the Minister estimated.
Responding to a question about the situation in Tripoli, Charbel said he called for a meeting for the Security sub-council in the North to deal with the security situation, and then make consultative contacts in order to achieve cease-fire and guarantee the withdrawal of gunmen from the streets.
"We rely on the Army which is making strenuous efforts with the security forces in order to adjust the situation and prevent security chaos," Charbel confirmed, adding that the dossier of the Lebanese victims ambushed in Syria is also being followed up closely.
