NNA - "Change and Reform" Bloc Head Michel Aoun assured everyone that stability shall not be tampered with, saying he sees eye to eye with Cardinal Rahi on means of addressing the current crisis.



Deputy Aoun's words came in the wake of his visit on Thursday to Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Rahi, to congratulate him on his appointment as a Cardinal by Pope Benedict XVI.



General Aoun considered the Supreme Pontiff's appointment of Rahi a Cardinal as an honor to the whole Maronite sect.



On emerging, Aoun said the visit was an occasion to dwell on the existing political crisis in the country, and they exchanged viewpoints over the matter.



On the other hand, Rahi met with former Prime Minister Saad Hariri's Political Advisor Daoud Sayegh, who conveyed to him a letter from Hariri in which he considered Rahi's appointment a Cardinal as an honor to all the Lebanese.



Hariri wished Rahi success in his efforts in the service of the Maronite Church and Lebanon.



Rahi then met with Lebanon's Central Bank Governor Riad Salemeh who came to congratulate the Patriarch on his appointment a Cardinal. The visit was an occasion to broach the current economic situation.
