NNA - Lebanese Army Chief, General Jean Qahwaji, met Thursday at his office in Yarze with the Head of the Economic Committees, former Minister Adnan Qassar, who hailed the efforts of the military institution in protecting stability.



"Amid the internal and external challenges which Lebanon is facing due to the turmoil in the Arab region, especially in Syria, the military institution has proven to be up to scratch, thanks to its wise command, on top of which General Jean Qahwaji," Qassar said.



"Building on this, all political parties are asked to keep this institution away from tensions and to support it," he added.



Separately, Qahwaji met with the Japanese Military Attache, who came on a protocol visit.
