NNA - Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, stressed on Thursday that salary scale impediments could only be resolved via calm discussions, spurning all the negativity and violent rhetoric targeting this issue.



Addressing Grand Serail itinerants, in the wake of a decision by the cabinet to postpone salary scale discussions for 3 weeks, the Prime Minister deplored threats of escalatory steps countering the ministerial decision.



"We really do understand the cry of objection by the Coordination Committee, but we remain in charge of preserving the country's monetary stability," Mikati said.



Moreover, Mikati expressed hope that this issue would not be bogged down in political polarizations.



"We are all involved in the protection process of our nation, and of skirting monetary instability, especially amid the deadlock situation the region endures."
